Q. What are the hardware/software requirements needed to use VerifyStudents?

A. In order to access and retain information and documents from VerifyStudents, you will need the following computer hardware and software:

  1. A computer with an internet connection.
  2. A current web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer version 8.0 and above, Firefox version 8.0 and above).
  3. The latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  4. A valid email address.
  5. You will also need access to a printer if you wish to print any important forms/documents. Note, these documents will be available to you at any time after you complete your application via your VerifyStudents profile.

 

Student FAQs

Q. Why do I need a background check to work at a clinical site?

A. In 2004, the Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) passed a standard that staff, students and volunteers who work in the same capacity as staff who provide care, treatment and services must obtain criminal background checks when required by law, regulation and organization policy.

Q. What information will I need to start my background check?

A. To start your background check, you will need the following:

  1. You’ll need a special promotional code from your school to begin the background check process. The code identifies the school and clinical rotation placement program you are in.
  2. You’ll need a credit card (Visa/MasterCard/American Express/Discover) in order to process payment.
  3. Be prepared to provide personal information, as well as school and program information. This information will be kept secure at all times.
  4. Follow the online prompts.

Q. What is a promotional code?

A. This code identifies your school and the program of study yu are in so that we can conduct the required background check.

Q. How do I get a promotional code?

A. Your school will provide you with a document containing instructions as well as the appropriate promotional code for your program of study. Many times this code is distributed by the program director’s office. For example, if you are in the nursing program, the nursing program director’s office may be the designee at your school to distribute the instructions.

Q. What methods of payment are accepted?

A. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards are accepted.

Q. How long does it take to process my background check?

A. VerifyStudents can process the check in as little as three (3) business days; however, due to the investigative nature of the check that involves individuals accessing court records nationwide, extra times may have to be alloted. Also, some healthcare facilities may require additional information in their background check that may require more time to verify, so a uniform turnaround time for all individuals cannot be quoted.

Q. How will I know when my background check is done?

A. You will receive an email, and if you choose to provide us with your mobile phone number, a text message will be sent informing you that your background report is complete.

Q. Can I get a copy of my background check report?

A. Yes, there are a couple of ways:

  1. Log into your account at www.VerifyStudents.com using the user ID and password supplied during your registration process. From here you will have access to your report and related screening information and forms.
  2. Contact Corporate Screening Services directly at 800-229-8606, option 3.

Q. Can I send my background report to multiple hospitals?

A. Yes, your background results can be shared and are portable to multiple clinical partners. Students send clinical and/or hospital administrators messages that allow them to securely receive and review background check results directly from Corporate Screening Services, thus ensuring the integrity of findigns, compliance and security.

Q. Does it cost more to share my background check results with multiple hospitals?

A. No.

Our new client review and assessment process includes a review of clinical agency agreements to ensure total compliance. Furthermore, our team is here to help should agency agreements and requirements change. Just give us a call, our consultation is always complimentary!

Q. How do I ensure that the students coming to my facility meet the standards we set forth in our background screening policy?

A. With our “portability” feature, you can have direct and secure access to each student’s report, allowing you to review and compare the completed report to your facilities requirements.

Q. How do I access results of student background checks?

A. IF YOU ARE A SCHOOL – As a client of VerifyStudents/Corporate Screening, you have access to all of your students’ reports through CS EASE, our state-of-the-art, secure client web portal.

Visit www.CorporateScreening.com to access CS EASE and login with your secure user ID and password, which will allow you to access results.

IF YOU ARE A CLINICAL SITE – Once a student has provided you with permission to access their report, you will have direct and secure access to that report.

Q. I don’t have a password for EASE. How do I get one?

A. Contact your account representative or call our Client Services department at 800-229-8606 and select option 3.

Q. I forgot my password, how can I get it?

A. Click on the “Reset/Change Password” link on the EASE login screen, then follow the prompts.

Q. The link to a student’s background report is no longer active. How can I access the report?

A. on the email message containing the report, click on the “re-access report” to request a link.
